Pantry Math: Stop Buying Groceries You Already Own
Every duplicate in your kitchen is sitting in the back third of a shelf. Shelf depth, pull-outs and zones, and when the cabinetry is the problem rather than your method.
CUSTOM KITCHEN CABINETS · WATERLOO, ON
Dream Spaces designs, builds and installs custom kitchen cabinets and storage for Waterloo homes, from century houses near Uptown to new builds in Vista Hills. Every cabinet is sized to the quarter inch for your walls and ceiling height, not picked from a stock catalogue, and installed by our own team.
Serving Waterloo and Waterloo Region
OUR WORK
Waterloo kitchens run the full range: tight galley layouts in wartime houses, open-concept new builds where the island does everything. The projects below show the design system we bring to every one: custom kitchen storage planned around the household first, then cabinetry made to measure. We already build custom closets in Waterloo, and the kitchen work follows the same standard.
WHY DREAM SPACES
Waterloo homeowners choose custom because the alternatives don’t fit: builder kitchens waste the corners, and big-box pantry units never quite reach the ceiling. We design storage around your real routine: weeknight cooking, the Costco run, two people making coffee at 7 a.m., and build the cabinetry to suit the house, whether that’s a 1920s brick semi or a Clair Hills two-storey.
We start with your kitchen, not a catalogue. A designer comes to you (at your home, or over video if that’s easier) and builds the plan around how you actually cook.
Every cabinet is designed and built for your kitchen: no stock sizes, no filler strips. Canadian-made materials, professional build, and a finish that lasts.
No franchise overhead. Direct relationships, faster decisions, and a team that takes every project personally.
For as long as you own your home. Quality backed by a warranty that means something.
SERVICES
Every kitchen works differently. Dream Spaces designs custom cabinetry and storage that fit how you cook, shop and gather, and builds them to fit the room exactly.
HOW IT WORKS
From consultation to installation, Dream Spaces works with Waterloo homeowners the way we work at home in Barrie: one team, one standard, no hand-offs.
We start with a relaxed conversation: at your home, or over video if that’s easier. We’ll walk through your kitchen together, talk about what’s working (and what isn’t), and get a clear picture of how you cook, shop and gather.
Next, we design your kitchen around you. You’ll get a rendering of your cabinetry (pantry walls, islands, full runs) tailored to your layout, your storage needs and your style.
Our own team handles installation from start to finish. We show up on time, protect your home, and fit every cabinet to the room: scribed, levelled and adjusted until it’s right.
We’ll walk through everything together to make sure it’s exactly how you want it.
Yes. Cabinetry is designed and built at our Barrie workshop and installed in Waterloo by our own team, we don’t subcontract the installation. Design consultations happen at your home or over video: your designer brings materials, finishes and hardware with them, so you see the options in your own space.
Scope, materials and door style set the price: a pantry wall, an island, and a full kitchen are three different projects. Rather than quote a bracket, we measure and design first, so the number you get is for your actual kitchen. The cost drivers are explained on our custom kitchen cabinets page.
Older homes are where custom earns its keep. Uneven plaster walls, out-of-square corners and low bulkheads defeat stock cabinets; ours are measured and built for the room as it actually is, including scribing to walls that have been settling for eighty years.
Yes. Many Waterloo projects pair the kitchen with a custom pantry or laundry room cabinets, so one design language runs through the whole main floor.

Every duplicate in your kitchen is sitting in the back third of a shelf. Shelf depth, pull-outs and zones, and when the cabinetry is the problem rather than your method.

A chair needs three feet of floor behind it to stand up out of; a bench needs none. The dimensions that make built-in seating comfortable, and the tradeoff to know first.

Most kitchens aren’t short of storage volume, they’re short of reachable storage. A walk through the blind corner, the deep base cabinet, the space above the fridge and the toe kick.
