Around Kashagawigamog, Kushog and Redstone there is a higher share of cottages that were never winterised and are not going to be. No heat from October, no plumbing, sometimes limited power. Anything we build there has to survive a full winter unheated, which rules out the standard heated-house cabinet box and points straight at a moisture-tolerant build.
Sir Sam's makes it a two-season property for some
The hill at Eagle Lake means a slice of Haliburton owners are up in winter as well as summer, and those two sets of gear could not be less alike. Skis, boards and snowshoes need vertical storage and a place to drip. Canoes, paddles and life jackets need air and length. If you use the place both seasons, say so, because the answer is two zones rather than one bigger cupboard.

We do. It is 1 hour 52 minutes from 73 Saunders Rd in Barrie, which is the outer edge of our regular service area rather than beyond it. Minden, Carnarvon, Eagle Lake and West Guilford are all in the same run. Past Dorset toward Algonquin it starts to stretch, so ask.
The cottage has no heat in winter. What can you build?
Plenty, with the right material. Ordinary melamine swells at the edges after enough freeze and humidity cycles, so an unheated Highlands cottage gets a moisture-tolerant box instead. It costs more per linear foot. We put that difference in the quote rather than mention it later.
Can you work with limited or off-grid power?
Yes. Our crew brings what it needs and the cabinetry arrives flat packed and pre-cut, so the on-site work is assembly and fitting rather than milling. Tell us at the measure what power there is and we plan the day around it.
What does a Haliburton project cost?
Reach-in closets run $2,500 to $6,000 and a walk-in $4,000 to $10,000, with larger work from $10,000 to $20,000. Moisture-tolerant material for an unheated building adds to that, and it shows as its own line in the quote.
